Is It Love? Part XI

The next five hallmarks of true love that are mentioned in 1 Corinthians take on a more upbeat tone. In fact the apostle Paul uses the word "always" which is an absolute. Absolutes rarely work for we can think of many occasions where the opposite is true. How many times have we said or thought "You always/never remember to.." fill in the blank. Really? If you think about it that isn't necessarily the case, for there have been times when they did remember and so on.
Yet here the scripture uses the phrase "It always protects," How true this is. There have been documented cases of a person giving up their life for their mate. Taking a bullet for their spouse. Just as courageous they have stood up to defend their mate to family and/or friends, whether or not their mate was present. Protecting the one you love doesn't need to be dramatic, it can be protecting their honor when another person talks poorly of them. Even when it is not the popular course to take. Even when you already know the outcome for you personally will not be favorable.
Does that sound like the person who says they love you? Does that sound like you regarding the one you love?
